Episode 20

E.D. Hackett: Turning a Chronic Illness Journey into a Fictionalized Novel

E.D. Hackett is a Speech-language pathologist by day and a writer by night. She has been writing since the first grade and still has her first book, "How I Lost My Tooth." She writes self-published novels that investigate layers of self-expectations, family dynamics, following dreams, and learning how to love and accept yourself while opening your heart to accept love from others.

E.D. Hackett has four women’s fiction novel out on Amazon and Kindle Unlimited. Her fifth novel (and first sweet romance) was published on Amazon and Kindle Unlimited in February 2023. Her women’s fiction novels have romantic elements and her sweet romance novels have women’s fiction elements. All her stories end happily because life is hard enough… reading for pleasure shouldn’t be. She hopes that her readers enjoy her novels just as much as she enjoyed writing them. Reviews on Amazon, Goodreads, and BookBub are always welcome.

Her two kids keep her busy, when they aren't hanging out on video games or with their friends. Her husband has encouraged her to follow her dreams, no matter their size.

She lives in New England but in her heart, she feels that she belongs in Ireland. She loves books over movies, ice cream over cake, and dreams about being a full-time author.

A little about today's host-

Shawna Rodrigues left her award-winning career in the public sector in 2019 to consult and publish her first novel Beyond the Pear Blossoms. Her desire to connect and help others led to the launch of her podcast The Grit Show shortly thereafter. When she learned women host only 27% of podcasts, her skills and passion led to the founding of the Authentic Connections Network. She now helps mission-driven entrepreneurs better connect with their audiences by providing full-service podcast production and through a community for Entrepreneurs & Podcasters – EPAC. Podcasting is her primary focus, so she continues to support the writing community through this podcast, and her writing time is mostly focused on anthologies.

She offers a free 7 Steps to Perfect Your Podcast Title to anyone interested in launching a podcast. You can also follow her on Instagram-@ShawnaPodcasts, and learn more about the network and community at https://linktr.ee/37by27.
